Adobe Photoshop/Channel Mask question

Question
Hi!

I made a channel mask, and converted it to a selection, and erased
the background area that was masked (I'm using an image of a
hand so the background behind the hand was erased). I'm noticing
a strange transparancy effect on the hand when I put another layer
behind it (with a new background). Do you know why this could be
happening?

Answer
your selection (the hand) is not pure 100% black in channel mask, to get the required result, fill the 100% color in channel so that it is 100 visible in composite image (for confirmation, you can check by creating any object 100% black in channel and fill it in composite)
