Hello Richard,

I've created a couple of tiles with graduated colour that I can use to display as a background in my header and left hand column of my website.

The problem I have is that I need to specify a backgound colour in my CSS to match the edge of the graphics, but I'm having  trouble determining the Hex value for the colour of the pixels on the edge of the image.

I've tried looking at the image as a bitmap, but it doesn't seem to show hex values in this format.

I've actually created the image in Fireworks, but I also have Adobe Photoshop.

Hope you can advise.

Hi Richard,
1)Open the bitmap image in photoshop.
2)Zoom in(ctrl&+) so that its easy to pick the color
3)Select Eyedropper Tool(i) and click on the color you need to find hex value for. That changes the foreground color on the "tools palette"
4)Now click on the foreground color to open "Color picker"
5)First uncheck the "Only web colors".
6)copy the hex value beside "#"

you can find the hex of any color by using the picker anytime while the "color picker" dialogue box is opened.
