Adobe Photoshop/GIFs

QuestionI'm creating an image (a logo with type) in Photoshop 6 to be displayed on a web page, but the saw-toothing is awful. It's to have a transparent background. I combined the logo image on one layer, then I add the 3 lines of copy on another layer, I adjust the anti-aliasing to smooth, & save it as a photoshop file. Then I go to 'Save for Web' under 'File,' make the adjustments for GIF, save it, and that's it. I send it to my Tech guy, and he opens it up in Photopaint, and it's ugly. Is it because he's using Photopaint? What can I do to improve the image?
I've been a graphic designer for 20 years, but I've only started learning Photoshop in earnest recently. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerDear Jeff,
Making GIF for web sometimes become tricky, especially if you have complex edges, gif makes the image transparent but not as perfect as you see in original file. The file gets some noisy dots after you save and re-check.
The best possible solution I have found is to save the file with the same background you may need in the end. This way you will save your time and efforts of working hard with GIF transparent solution.
