Question
I know that when I save a Jpeg picture over and over it looses information, detail in the pic. Just saving the pic just two or three times is enough to distort the image, right? But if I save a jpeg pic or file of jpeg pictures in a WinRAR file and save the WinRAR over and over will the jpeg pics inside be effected? Is this the best way of doing it. I just converted all my digital camera pics(jpeg) to tiff. but it takes up so much space! But it is safe. Better safe than sorry right.

saving your files in TIFF format is a good practice, I am not sure about the WINRAR thing. if you re-open and save the file everytime you will have to extract it in any case. so the JPG compression will always decrease the quality.
