Question
Hi,
I looked at your answers, and I have further questions for you.  You said control L was the best to use. I tried that but all you get is input and output levels.  My friends head  has R 216 G 145 B 128 the body he is going on has R 163 G 122 B 104.  I need more detailed instrucitons on doing what I need to do.  Paint Shop Pro 7 has an automatic feature that does this for you.  You lasso the area, then with this feature you change the color of that area without changing detail.  Is there no such feature on photo shop 6.  I appreciate your help.

Question -
Hi,

A friend upgraded his Photoshop 6.0 to the latest photoshop.  He gave me his copy of 6.0. I had asked the question regarding matching the skin tones on my friends head with the body it was going on.  I was wondering what the best way to capture the head was where the color needs changing.  Also what is the function and procedure used to match the heads skin tone to the  bodies skin tone.

Thanks,
God Bless,
Don Crosby Jr.

Question -
My question is very simple.  I can by a new copy of paint shop pro 7.0 for 50 dollars.  Or get a copy of Adobe Photoshop 6.9 for free.  I do a lot of custom E-cards that I make for friends. In making many of these cards I will but a friends head on another persons body all in fun.  I use PSP 5.0 but have a hard time matching thw two skin tones.  Paint Shop pro has a feature that allows you to lassoo the area of interest, you can change the color without changing any of the other physical characteristics.  Does Photo shop 6 have this feature, and is it hard to use.  One last question.  Can I use images created in PSP 5 in Photo shop 6. i appreciate your help.

Dear Don Crosby Jr.,

Yes!, its really easy in photosop to match the same color tones while selecting the specific area of the object. infect you can try 'quick mask' to get a better selection for hairs and other faded areas.

you easily open older version's  files in newer verion, its standard for every software we use.

Feel free to ask anything further

hi,

Levels (Ctrl + L) is the best option, you can also use Curves (Ctrl+M) for color editing,

try this, you will get the result with few tries

Answer
Hi Donald,

Try to use variations palette for your problem, Photoshop has the solution of your problem, but maybe you will have to get into for details, i.e. Levels channels.

You can find ‘variation' in Image > Adjustments  > Variations

If still you cannot find the solution, can send me the file it will do it for you.
