Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop 7 won't start

Question
I've been using Photoshop 7.0 on this laptop for quite some time. Then, without warning, it stopped working. It'll go to the startup screen, show that it's initiating, and then will disappear from the screen completely. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, done a systems check, defragged, and still I have made no headway in being able to use Photoshop 7.0. Imageready works just fine though. I thought it might be a RAM issue but I have 512MB of RAM. There is nothing I can think of that I might have done to make it stop working correctly. Recently though, after reinstalling it for the fourth time, I got a message about using the same volume as windows but I can't do anything about that since the program won't stay up past the initiation screen. What's happened to my Photoshop program and how can I see an end to this problem?

Answer
I had this problem with my non legit copy. If you have one, then you need to find another number to register with.

If this is a legit copy, hmm...the only thing that I can think of is that you haven't updated your files recently? I would update your computer and photoshop to see if that works. You might also want to do a virous scan. I don't think that's the problem...but...

if not...call adobe.
