Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop: Adobe Unit Types file

Question
Hello, I was reading through your Q&A and saw a question about
Photoshop: When a photoshop file is clicked, it opens
Photoshop, but not the acutal file. I have the same problem, but
I deleted my previous system folder I think, so I don't have the
Adobe Unit Types file to drag and drop in my ScriptingAdditions
folder. Is there a way I can get that somehow? Thank you!

Answer
Hi Jeff,

I'm not sure if the Adobe Unit Types file is downloadable. I did several searches, and can't seem to find it online. What's recommended by Adobe, if you're missing Adobe Unit Types, is to reinstall Photoshop, which will automatically place the file in its Scripting Additions folder.

Do a search of your system and see if you have still have it in your Previous System folder. If not, I'd try reinstalling Photoshop.

Let me know what happens -- I'll keep looking to see if someone offers it online.

Hope this helps,

Lisa

Expertise

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2. I taught college commercial art and graphic design for 10 years, and within that realm, taught Photoshop at every level, and with each successive product upgrade. My experience with Photoshop is thus extensive and well-rounded, from photo retouching to color adjustment to incorporating Photoshop and ImageReady into Web design. I am primarily a Mac user (since 1985), but am also PC-savvy.

Experience

I've been a graphic designer for 22 years, was a national magazine art director, a designer for the Department of Defense, a college art instructor, and have my own freelance Web and graphic design business, LittleWorks (www.little-works.com). I've also worked for several printing companies, in both prepress and art.

Awards and Honors
PICA award (Printing Industry of the Carolinas Award for the design of a media kit that accompanied a magazine I was art directing at the time)
