Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop Elements 4.0

Question
I created a large number of files (photos) with an Adobe Photodeluxe 2.0 program (a special edition that came with an Epson printer).  This was on a computer with Windows 98.  I now have a new computer (windows XP) and Photoshop Elements 4.0.  I can't seem to open any of the XX.pdd files in PE 4.0... get a "cannot complete your request due to a program error" message.  Anything I can do or is this just not going to happen.  Thanks for your assistance.

Answer
hey there,

sorry, I have no clue. I don't see any reason for that happening.  It might be because XP is so much more advanced? If you can, get the latest copy of elements, maybe that will work.  You probably can also save them as a .tiff and bring them over.  I don't know about elements, but photoshop cs lets you keep your layers if you make them .tiffs. have you tried reinstalling?

eh.
