Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop Problem

Question
I am having a problem with Photoshop 7.  I believe someone has already asked this question but I couldn't get the solution to work on my computer.  The problem is simple.  I have outlined an oval like shape with the magic wand and marquee tools.  Feather is set to 0.  However, when I try to fill this shape in with a paint brush or paint bucket the color bleeds out of the selection.  When I then inverse my selection and hit delete.  It deletes the offending pixels, but it also deletes random pixels from my oval shape.  I am becoming extremely frustrated because I have been forced to manually fill in very large and irregular selections. I appreciate your help.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi John,

Are you sure your selection is actually selected? That is, you say you've outlined a shape with the magic wand and marquee tools, but is the shape activated?

I tried to re-create your problem but couldn't make it happen. Here's what I did:

As you can see, I made a selection with my magic wand tool, filled it with the Fill command and the paint bucket, filled it with fore- and background colors, inverted the selection, etc. The color never leaked out.

Is there any way you can post a screen shot of your Photoshop window online, or send it to me, so I can see what's going on? You should send it to lizal@little-works.com, if possible.

Thanks,

Lisa
