Adobe Photoshop/Photoshop image & text
Expert: Candice Anderson - 9/19/2007
QuestionHello Candice , I am new at Photoshop and thought maybe you could guide me. I am trying to do a catalogue I've added a few images and a few text to describe the images. What I wanted to know is how firstly to add a little colour bit to the end of the page on the top right and print it so there is no white corner.
Secondly, how do I add text roatated 90 degrees without affecting the images and text already in place ?
kind regards,
Girish
p.s am using photoshop v 5.0
AnswerHey Girish,
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the white corner. If you're talking about the square that you get when you print, thats a printer thing. It's because of the printer margins. check to see if you printer has a bleeding option - where the art can go all the way to the edge. If not, not much you can do except take the art to a printer.
To make a color square:
1. make a new layer (looks like a postit sign on the bottom of the layers palette)
2. go to the tool that looks like a square. (called the rectangle tool)
3. you'll see three little squares on the top of your screen, click the one that doesn't have dots on it.
4. choose a color
5. make your square (drag)
becuase it's on a seperate layer, you can move it around however you please and not damage the art.
to reshape
1. pretty ctrl (apple) H
2. move the points around to make your shape
text
1. make a new layer
2. to to the text tool (press the T)
3. type - you fonts and what not are on top, and that works just like word. Choose a size, color, font etc...
4. move your arrow down to one of the points, you'll notice that you'll see a curvy tool appear.
5. rotate it until it's 90 degrees
6. press ENTER. not RETURN, but ENTER.
good luck :)
