Question
I have Photoshop CS (8) and have used 6 and 7 over the years.  I just started to scan old documents to preserve them and created PDFs of them.  Some pages have stains and marks and I can remove them, but when I go to save them the text is fuzzy.

How do I save these files without loosing the quailty of the text from the scan?

I do plan to print from these pdf's as well.   I have the same problem when printing cd covers too.

Thanks,

Baily

Answer
Your file must not be sufficient enough to preserve the file quality.

PDF files saves in screen resolution, and if your try to read the text, it may not be easily possible to read even on screen,

There are 2 solutions,

1. You OCR your text docs for better text results
2. Try to scan the files on higher resolution. i.e. between 120-180DPI. But for this, you will have to shrink your document size in page setup while printing.

Try that, hope it will help to solve your problem,
