Adobe Photoshop/RAW and metadata

Question
I use bridge to sort / rate photos, and have added alot of metadata to them. . i.e. keywords etc. My problem is that i  need to distribute some photos in jpg format. I converted from RAW (.CR2) (Canon) to jpg in adobes camera raw utility, but the metadata didn't make it through the conversion. IS there a way to apply the same data to the jpgs? Thank you for your help.

Answer
Hi Vincent,
For files like JPEG where data can be embedded, check your metadata mappings. Using Bridge the data should be in the XMP format Keywords field.

For file types that aren't designed for third-party data embedding, such as most Camera RAW files, the data is placed in XMP sidecar files which Portfolio doesn't read. In such a case you would be better to use DNG as your long term DAM format for RAW files as Portfolio can read metadata from DNG.

The solutions seems to convert to DNG files and then assign keywords.

Hope this helps.
