Adobe Photoshop/Spot color

Question
I have a CMKY document, it is a magazine cover. I would like for the type to be a gold spot color and the rest to be CMYK. Seems simple, but the type layer has a bevel and emboss applies to it and when I save the spot channel, there is no bevel. I found out that if i want to take it into Quark 6, that I have to save it as and DCS file. The spot color shows up in Quark, but the type looks flat with no layer effect. How can I use the spot color and still keep the bevel? Thanks

Answer
This is an Indesign question place, not Quark, but I'll try :)

by looking flat, do you mean that you lost your bevel? From my experience with Quark (which is why I don't use it anymore) is that photoshop items don't transfer over well.  If you made the bevel in photoshop, you may or may not get the effect you want. However, the magic of the gold color coming out is going to be with your printer.  I usually make a color, write what I need to say, and then tell the printer that anything in that certain color will be gold and beveled.

Did I answer you're question, feel free to ask again if I was totally off ;)
