Adobe Photoshop/No Text in CS2?

Question
For some strange reason as of late, I have lost my text tool.  Using CS2 on a
Mac, I went to type text as I have done days, months before however this
time, nothing shows up.  The text shows up correctly on the layer name as if I
did type it, however nothing on the stage.  I've tried changing colors, fonts,
etc.. no text whatsoever.  About the same time this started happening, now
each time I launch Bridge, I get an error message stating some script was not
loaded.  I've never had these problems before and now they start out of the
blue  ?  Please please help.  I'm about to pull my hair out.  Thanks ever so
much

Answer
solution one: Look at your color squares. When you change colors, does the square on the bottom change? Theres your problem.  (I wish I knew the solution)  Set all of your stuff to default again.

solution two: You must be on a new Mac and on CS2.  Reinstall.
