Question
Hi.  I am having trouble installing Vertigo hot text 3d for photoshop on my PC.  I've done research, and found out that I need Quickdraw, but how do i get it?  I read that it is suppose to come installed with Quicktime, but the program does not react with Vertigo.  please tell me what I can do to install this program.  i have tried to contact Vertigo various times, and I do not receive a reply.  i spent $100 on this program which has alot of hype, and I can't install it.
Thanks
robert

Answer
Hi Robert,

To be quite honest, I'm not sure I can help  you. I don't use this plug-in, and am not even familiar with it.

So I went to the Vertigo site and did a little research, and saw where you do need Quickdraw. With reference to that, I would download the latest version of QuickTime for the PC (from www.apple.com), but don't do an automatic install. When you go to install Quicktime, you should see an option for a Custom install, and this is what you want to do in order to get the QuickDraw portion to be activated. So I'd do that, for sure. QuickTime's free, at any rate, so it's not like you'll be out any more money.

I'll also throw this out -- when you installed Photoshop, you created a Plug-ins folder. Have you tried putting the Vertigo Hot Text plug-in in that folder? And I mean just a simple drag and drop, too, not a formal install, like you would install a program. First, quit Photoshop. Then go to the Photoshop application folder on your PC and see if you don't have a Plug-ins folder, and try placing the Vertigo plug-in there.

I would be highly p.o.'ed if I'd spent $100 on software and it wouldn't work as predicted and promised. Have you actually called Vertigo? If you've legally bought the program and have a valid registration number, there's no reason your purchase shouldn't be honored. I'd call them on the phone, and state my case, and I wouldn't hang up until it was working.

This probably isn't a lot of help and I apologize, but I've tried to add what I know. Please let me know what happens, and in the meantime I'll try to find out more about this plug-in.
