Question
I am an amature in using adobe photoshop 6.

I would like to turn a regular picture that I have taken and make it appear as if it were a
cartoon.  I have seen some samples of that recently on Entertaiment Tonight where they instantly turn shot and make it look like a comic strip.

I have tried all the filters and have not been succesful.

I hope I was clear.

Dear Gerry,

Umm... there are ways to convert files into different effect. There's an effect of posterzing images.

Image > Adjustment > Posterize

It can turn your file into limited number of colors, very similar to vector graphics

You can apply "find Edges" filter for your object's think outline stroke.

Or can apply pencil sketch filter to give a stroking effect.
