hey there,
I hate to ask this, but can you reword this, I'm not sure what you're asking. What do you mean you are taking the picture to the silver? Are you trying to take a picture and make it silver and leave the backgroud white?
Candice :)
Answerah,
You are trying to take the backgroud out of the photo but keeping the necklace, yes?
There are a few ways to do this, the best though is to use the pen tool.
first, make a copy of your picture layer, incase there is a problem
click the pen tool on your tool bar, or hit "P" on your keyboard. You want to trace around the necklace.
Huge notes:
alt + click will "anchor" your line. This will make you able to freely move your line around.
If you need to redo a line, ctrl + click that point and delete. Click the point before it to continue.
when you click the pen tool, you will see four little boxes up at the top. make sure the last one is clicked.
when you are done, go to you paths box (next to layers) and double click you new path. Rename it to what you want.
ctrl + click that path layer.
alt + ctrl + I to select the inverse
delete.
now you should have no background
You can also use the Lasso tool and then alt + ctrl + I to select inverse, then delete. There are less steps but its not as accurate and if you screw up, you have to do it all over again.
