Adobe Photoshop/batching pdf files to jpeg

Question
I have hundreds of PDF files, each of whose first page I need to convert to sized JPEG files.
I've seen the instructions for creating actions to batch the process together but end up with only the fist file in the folder as the open command uses the initial file's name over and over again. ???
I was able to do this operation back in OS9 but have not been able with PS CS2 in OSX.

I open new action, name it and record as I open the pdf, resize, save as jpeg then close, then stop recording.

Help???

Answer
ya,

I had this question a few weeks ago and basically I'm giving a probably might work answer. i love batch but god is it finicky!

Before you leave the batch diaolog box, add some extensions, located at the bottom of the box. Add a number or date...it gives you options. That way it'll save the name and a number, thus making it differnt

if they are already with differnt names, don't worry about the extension, just take out the save and close on your action. It will automatically do this for you.

I hope this works!
