when you open any file in photoshop... what should be white on the image/ background is pink. Have checked all the colour preferences and doesn't make sense.

all white colours are showing up pink when I open it.. yuk. Can't figure it out, there's no white anywhere.

open a file? Open photoshop? Open swatches...

ah,

when you start a new file, make sure that your background is either set for white for nothing.  Right now you have it set for background color, which is pink.  If you background was at the default, then it would be white.

if that's not the problem, you have a color issue with photoshop, reinstall.
