Adobe Photoshop/about cursor speed while selection

Question
dear sir,
  whenever I select by lasso tool I pick on the
image and go on picking to finish my irregular
polygonal selection. What I face problem is that
picking  my selection will edge pan very fast.
most of the time it pans so fast that i can not
come back to the previous point, it pans very
fast in any direction. Is there any tip to slow
down the panning while selection process.

I don't think this is a Photoshop problem. It sounds more like your mouse speed is too fast. You don't say whether you're using a Mac or a PC -- so depending on which platform you're using, you need to access the preferences for your mouse, and slow down the tracking speed.

There aren't any controls in Photoshop to slow down the speed of your mouse, so adjusting its overall speed in your system preferences should make a difference.

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2.
