Adobe Photoshop/desirable laptop specification

QuestionI use CS2 and a 10Mpx DSLR , and produce manipulated images - for fun and exhibition. I have a 64bit desktop system which is fine for me, but need a laptop to use when away from home, and maybe when I'm home too - if I don't want to do any work on a tablet like making a close selection with pen tool simply to be able to work in my sitting room instead of shut up in isolation in my study ; away from home I want not only downloads and simple editing ,showing slide sequences to fellow travellers, but also some PS editing. I suppose I need to look for a good video card and perhaps 2Gb of RAM with either 64bit or maybe Centrrino dual technology ?
Answerit can't hurt.
i'm working on a gig of ram right now and it works just fine. if you are to do film and what not, yes 2 gigs is great. Heck, 2 gigs is great anyway. But if you are just doing photoshop, then a gig will do. 64 bit, centirro, good.
NO DELL, GATEWAY OR ANY OTHER CHEAP SILLY COMPUTERS THAT YOU SEE ON TV!, ADOBE HATES THESE AND NO ONE WILL HELP YOU.
If you want a pc, i suggest a thinkpad, IBM. I've had mine since 2004 and it does the job. they also have great service.
if you are considering this is as a profession, get a mac. but..not for 6 months, the intels are horrid ( I know, i have one)
