Hi,
My brain doesn't seem to wrap itself around Photoshop the way I'd like. Enough self-deprecation...on to the questions (they're small).
1) If I want a dropshadow for an image, what's the best way using Photoshop? When I open an image, there is no room around the borders. So, if I try and add a dropshadow, nothing shows up. Is there an easy way around this?
2) Often, I want to create a little background "strip" that has a shadow on either end of it. www.happycog.com uses this kind of graphic for their background image and I can't seem to duplicate this technique. If you could give me a step by step on this, I would be very very grateful.
Thanks,
Andrew

AnswerOk,
. Make a square box as has been shown in background (the shadow will be on its out side) keep in mind to create a edge to edge box on top/bottom while leave some space on left/right sides for shadow
. Go to 'Blending Options' and choose 'Drop Shadow'
. Keep this setting, however; you can play with 'Size'
Opacity: 100%
Distance: 0
Spread: 0
Size: 29
Rest should be default
You will get what you want, Feel free to ask anything further
