Hi -- I can try and answer your question, but I do need some additional information.

Can you explain to me what you mean by "system files?" Are you working on a PC or a Mac? What do these files look like -- that is, what is their icon, when you look at them unopened? What kind of file extension do they have (as in .jpg, .gif)? Are these pictures that you've taken, or downloaded -- that is, are these your personal pictures? And when you say "change them back to normal," what do you mean by "normal?"

Please let me know exactly what you mean and I'll be more than happy to help!

Thanks,

Lisa

Answer
Hi again!

It sounds like you're viewing the pictures through the Microsoft Photo Viewer, and not Photoshop. Try opening Photoshop, then go to the Photoshop File pulldown menu and select Open. Navigate to where you have these images stored, and see if you can open them that way.

If you can, instead of trying to drag them to move them to another location, try instead using the Save As... command, which is also found under the File menu. Open an image, select Save As... and then choose another location for the file. Repeat the process for all the files you want to move. Once you've saved them to where you need them to be, then you can go back and trash the original files. But make sure you've copied them first.

Hope this helps!

Lisa

Expertise

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2. I taught college commercial art and graphic design for 10 years, and within that realm, taught Photoshop at every level, and with each successive product upgrade. My experience with Photoshop is thus extensive and well-rounded, from photo retouching to color adjustment to incorporating Photoshop and ImageReady into Web design. I am primarily a Mac user (since 1985), but am also PC-savvy.

Experience

I've been a graphic designer for 22 years, was a national magazine art director, a designer for the Department of Defense, a college art instructor, and have my own freelance Web and graphic design business, LittleWorks (www.little-works.com). I've also worked for several printing companies, in both prepress and art.
