Adobe Photoshop/manipulating a JPEG in photoshop
Expert: Candice Anderson - 8/11/2006
Questionhello
I have a Jpeg of a map with some airports etc on it. For a
memory task that I am creating, I need to place false locations
etc on this background of aviation map so I can test my pilots on
it.
My expertise level in Photoshop is beg-medium. I have opened
the Jpeg, and deleted the text area. It leaves the background
empty (damaged). I could cut another piece from somewhere
and place it on top, but it looks cut up even after i flatten the
image. I may have to do it in a different layer somehow? if you
can help me with this, I would so appreciate it. I need to place
text on this image, to create 108 stimuli. I can keep the same
background map though.
Thank you
Maheen
Answerhey there,
Let me make sure I have this, you are making a test map from a map with the actual places and you need to put false ones on there?
Another layer will do the the trick. See if you can find the font that looks near the original, then type another layer. That way you can fix it if you mess up.
I would also reccomend, if you have it, using Indesign instead. You can bring the map into that program, then right allover it as it's a layout prgram. Photoshop is great too, but Indesign might be a little easier for what you want to do.
