Adobe Photoshop/masks?

Question
Hello Huma,

I am trying to add text to an image using photoshop 6. When I try to type the text into the image the whole image gets a semi transparent pink covering over it. I haven't used the program in AGES and I'm thinking that maybe I added a mask at some point in the past and now I can't figure out how to get rid of it. Also, the text does not respond to any of the colors that I apply to it, it just types in white and that's it. Do you have any suggestions for this problem?

Answer
There could be Three Reasons of your problem,

1. You are working in channels, and when you try to write something, you have only two colors and the 'non-effected area becomes mask

How to Overcome this problem: Press Ctrl+' fro your keyboard or just go to channels and click on channel 0, try again if this helps.

2. Your File is in Index Color Mode; you have turned ON the quick mask option by mistake (Q) from keyboard

Try These, I hope it will solve your problem, Feel free to ask anything further
