Question
What is the best website that I could go to for some 'free' photoshop techniques? It's seems incredibly difficult  to find decent help for even simple questions surrounding photoshop.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Terry,

Well, I'm not so sure I can tell you which site is the "best," and really, the answer here all depends on what you want to do: retouching? restoring? creating? etc., etc.

But here are some sites that I've bookmarked on my browser, some that I think have a good variety of information.

Photoshop 911 -- has a lot of good tips and tutorials, plus user forums:
http://photoshop911.typepad.com/help/

graphic-design.com has a good Photoshop tutorial section:
http://www.graphic-design.com/Photoshop/tutorials/index.html

Photoshop Cafe also has some good stuff:
http://www.photoshopcafe.com/

Absolute Cross has some good tutorials too:
http://www.absolutecross.com/

Hope this helps!

Lisa

P.S. I can't resist saying that All Experts is free, and if you have a particular technique in mind that you need to know about, you might ask your question here!

Expertise

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2. I taught college commercial art and graphic design for 10 years, and within that realm, taught Photoshop at every level, and with each successive product upgrade. My experience with Photoshop is thus extensive and well-rounded, from photo retouching to color adjustment to incorporating Photoshop and ImageReady into Web design. I am primarily a Mac user (since 1985), but am also PC-savvy.

Experience

I've been a graphic designer for 22 years, was a national magazine art director, a designer for the Department of Defense, a college art instructor, and have my own freelance Web and graphic design business, LittleWorks (www.little-works.com). I've also worked for several printing companies, in both prepress and art.

Awards and Honors
PICA award (Printing Industry of the Carolinas Award for the design of a media kit that accompanied a magazine I was art directing at the time)
