Question
When I connect my digital camera to my pc, it automatically starts downloading the pics into Photoshop Elements 4.0 Organizer.

I went under Edit - Preferences and removed the checkmark from USE ADOBE PHOTO DOWNLOADER TO GET PHOTOS FROM CAMERA OR CARD READER, but it still starts downloading the pictures.

I also went into msconfig to try and remove the check mark from start-up menu, but it wasn't on the list.

Hi Peggy,

I don't use Photoshop Elements, so I can't advise you from experience. But I would suggest that after making sure you've unchecked the automatic downloading option, quit the program, and even restart your machine. If that doesn't work post back and we'll go from there.

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2. I taught college commercial art and graphic design for 10 years, and within that realm, taught Photoshop at every level, and with each successive product upgrade.
