Question
When I connect my digital camera to my pc, it automatically starts downloading the pics into Photoshop Elements 4.0 Organizer.

I went under Edit - Preferences and removed the checkmark from USE ADOBE PHOTO DOWNLOADER TO GET PHOTOS FROM CAMERA OR CARD READER, but it still starts downloading the pictures.

I also went into msconfig to try and remove the check mark from start-up menu, but it wasn't on the list.

yep, it's going to do that.

what you can try doing is taking the card out of the camera and using a reader, then the computer will read it as a drive instead of a camera. I don't think it will work, but worth a shot.

the thing is that its a foriegn drive and the computer is trying to figure out what to do.

if you have a mac, just ctrl click on the bouncing logo and tell it to stop.
