Adobe Photoshop/photoshop--scaling
Expert: Candice Anderson - 3/8/2007
QuestionHi Canduice,
That was so so helpful. Amazing, I can't believe how simple and I've been trying to figure out for weeks..
Another question for you, if you don't mind.
I am trying to create a pattern fill. The only way I am aware of doing it is to use the pattern stamp tool. Is there a way to upload a new pattern? Also, do you know if there's any way to do a pattern repeat?
Thanks again!!
Amber

-----Question-----
Hi!
I am pretty new to photoshop so I know this will seem like a very basic question. I was wondering about scaling a selection from an image. My specific problem is that I'm working on a fashion illustration, which I've scanned into photoshop. I would like to then take a fabric with a print, which I've also scanned, and be able to scale it down to the illustration size in order to be able to fill with a print size to scale of the garment in the illustration. Hope that makes sense, Thanks so much for helping out!!

hello,
select you layer
press control T (or edit + transform + scale)
hold shift down as you scale it down

AnswerHi Amberer,
umm, I don't use the stamp tool, so I'm guessing here.
double click you layer, to go the patterns line. there should be a tab that says choose your own pattern.
to create your own, make the pattern in photoshop and then go to edit, define pattern.
