Adobe Photoshop/please help with transparent background
Expert: Huma Riaz - 5/3/2004
QuestionHiya,
thanks very much for your prompt reply, although it does not seem to be the answer to what i am trying.
In essence my main aim is to open a jpeg picture, which contains blue text on it. i need to achieve leaving the blue text untouched followed by removing the white background and repacing it with a transaprent background. This will then enable me to place the picture containing the blue text onto a web site containing a red background with the white box not showing, just the blue text - please help
many thanks

i would like to know how i can do the following.
1. firstly take any picture that has a white background and convert it into a transparent background to allow me to use the picture on any colour bacground.
2. place drop shadow onto an item.
i am deeply frustrated trying to muddle through this, without any success, and therefore look forward to any help you can provide.
many thanks

I think I have answered this question before tim, but if you still have confusion, i am writing this down again
1. use magic wand to select the white BG
2. Inverse selection
3. make your layer editable (double click)
4. delete the white bG
5. right click on image layer, and choose 'blending options'
from list.
6. select the 'drop shadow' from left coulmn list
7. now you can select the desired effect suits to your image
