Adobe Photoshop/pop art

QuestionI am trying to figure out how to do pop art type pictures in 7.0 using a regular pic to start with. I have an example of what I am looking for. If you go to www.photowow.com that is basically what I am trying to achieve. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

AnswerHi Christine,
Neat stuff! But you don't say which effect you're looking to achieve, so what I'll do is offer some suggestions and links. If these suggestions aren't what you're looking for, please post back and tell me specifically the look you're going after. Please also tell me if you're looking for a tutorial using your existing filters; or if you plan to purchase a new filter or set of filters. The more information you can give me, the better!
1. Photoshop 7 has a number of built-in filters that will help you get some interesting looks. You can find them all under submenus of the Filter pulldown menu:

So then I took the same picture and applied several of these built-in filters to it:

(This is kind of a big movie and it might take a minute or two to load, depending on your internet connection.)
(Photoshop CS has a "filters gallery," that lets the user preview all the filters in one window, rather than have to choose from the Filter pulldown menu, so that's why you see them arranged like this. But you can just use the pulldown menus to get the same effects; this Gallery is just a means of organizing and previewing the filters.)
2. Here's a link for a site that has a good tutorial on achieving the colored half-tone look:

3. Alien Skin has a lot of filters, most notably Eye Candy, if you're looking to purchase something:

4. I guess this is THE site for plug-ins, LOL!

5. Another neat pop-art tutorial:

Hope this helps, but if it's not what you're looking for, please post back with specifics on the look you're trying to achieve.
