Adobe Photoshop/progressive vs. optimized

Question
 Hi,

How are you?
I have a question about preparing pictures for web using Photoshop 6.0. I know what the differences are between optimized and progressive jpeg but I am confuzed that Photoshop 6.0 lets me choose those two options simultaneously. What does it mean if I choose both? Is it going to be one or the other then, or maybe a combination of two. What does it mean in terms of pageload speed and ability of different browsers to recognize it? What option would you choose for websites (considering that some viewers have slow connection)?
 Thank you ver much.

 Eric

Answer
Hello Eric, hope you are fine,

Well I don't have Adobe Photoshop 6.0 here, but I can  assume what things you are talking about, the thing is that, JPG does that, but the good option to save file for web is to choose 'save for web' option in file menu.

It is the most simple and easy way to save file. You just need to see the quality of the file by viewing the preview in 2-up or 4-up window, and also the file size showing in bottom of the preview window.

Hope it will help, feel free to ask anything further
