Question
I have psd files that I want to convert to jpeg.  I go to the file menu and select save as but it does not give me a jpeg option.
Is there another way?  I am using ps7 on a pc.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Thom,

First of all, I apologize for not answering this sooner. The All Experts site did NOT notifiy me that I had any questions pending! This is the first I've seen your question, so on behalf of this (slack) site I apologize. I just happened to come to the site and manually log in and saw your question.

You should have a JPEG option when you select Save As. Can you tell me, what other options do you see? If you don't see something simiilar to this:

then you might want to consider reinstalling your program.

Also -- have you tried Save for Web? Of course, that's recommended if you're going to be using the picture online, but it provides an option for compressing a photo into Web-ready JPEG. Just wondering.

Let me know what other options you have and I'll be happy to explore your problem further. And again, sorry for the delay.

Expertise

I've used Photoshop since the release of version 2. I taught college commercial art and graphic design for 10 years, and within that realm, taught Photoshop at every level, and with each successive product upgrade. My experience with Photoshop is thus extensive and well-rounded, from photo retouching to color adjustment to incorporating Photoshop and ImageReady into Web design. I am primarily a Mac user (since 1985), but am also PC-savvy.

Experience

I've been a graphic designer for 22 years, was a national magazine art director, a designer for the Department of Defense, a college art instructor, and have my own freelance Web and graphic design business, LittleWorks (www.little-works.com). I've also worked for several printing companies, in both prepress and art.
