The text tool always has a square dot at the beginning of a sentence.  And underlines everything.  Its yellow. I dont know why it is doing this.

Answer
Pick text tool from toolbar and click once time in canvas, so you won't see dotted square shape. You can always change your text color from swatches window after selecting the text.

Go to window and then click on Swatches.
