Hi Kamal
My daughter who is overseas has sent me a dvd with about 900 jpgs images
so that she can unload her digital cam.  She had them burnt at a Kodak store
overseas, but as she does not have a computer, never checked the DVD was
burnt correctly.  Of the 900 images, at roughly 450, the second half, they are
not opening and come up with the "unknown or invalid jpeg marker".  I have
2 macs here running OS9 and X and neither open or preview in Photoshop,
Preview on OSX andhave renamed the file, tried oipening other formats in PS
and nothing.  We have a PC also and this is the same problem on all 3
machines.  The DVD says each file is a nice size 500k + so there is data
there
but I cannot think of any way to recover her 450 photos which are her
memories.. She is pretty upset but I have said that there must be a way
without going into the BBedit stuff as that is out of my league.  

If you have any knowledge in this, I would appreciate your help.  Lisa who has
done this before is away and I cannot see that her ideas had a result..

Hi Sharon,
Go to http://www.irfanview.com/
Download and install that image viewer. Usually when the JPG image has  an error, irfan view will fix it, just click on 'ok' if it prompts anything, then you'll be able to view or edit the image thereafter.
