Adoption Issues/Guardianship to adoption

Question
We became the legal guardians of our granddaughter about 6 years ago. We have had her with us since she was 7 months. We want to adopt her. But have not had the money to do so yet.  What would be involved. Since we have had her so long would we have to go through a new home study and background check ? We have been through that twice once with her and once with getting our grandson. We live in Oklahoma. A lawyer said he would waive his fees but what would our other cost be? like court cost?

Answer
Sadly I am an adoptive mom in Nebraska no idea how the laws  about this kind of adoption cost or how they go forward. You need to talk to the lawyer and ask for the laws and information may be gotten from whomever did your last adoption homestudy. Best wishes
Terrie, at very least court costs, if birthparents have not signed adoption termination papers then have to go through finding them or whatever state law requires.
