About Colleen
Expertise
I can answer questions about the adoption process. I don't handle questions about searches for adoptive parents.

Experience
I have three adopted children. The two youngest were adopted as infants. In both cases, we dealt with the birthmother during her pregnancy and a bit afterwards. Our children are now old enough to begin asking questions and we are dealing with those issues.

Question
Just wanted to know what is the paperwork I would need to get for my husband to legally adopt my 2 son's he has been in their lives for 8 yrs

Answer
Hi Gloria:  To begin an adoption, your best bet is to contact an attorney in your area.  You will need to have a  home study done, and unless the boys' father is deceased, you will most likely need his consent to the adoption.  But your best bet is to contact an attorney who can tell you what the adoption laws in your state are.

Good Luck!

Colleen
