About Colleen
Expertise
I can answer questions about the adoption process. I don't handle questions about searches for adoptive parents.

Experience
I have three adopted children. The two youngest were adopted as infants. In both cases, we dealt with the birthmother during her pregnancy and a bit afterwards. Our children are now old enough to begin asking questions and we are dealing with those issues.

Question
Hi, I am getting ready to go through the process of adopting a child from state of california. I am a preschool director for a private preschool in los angeles and I am already in the state system as far as fingerprinting, live scan, cpr/ first aid, etc. Will I still have to be fingerprinted or will they just plug into the state system and get my info. Will it be alot faster to get a child if I am already in the system?

Answer
Every state has their own laws with regard to the adoption process.  However, I believe you will still have to go throgh the fingerprinting.  I've adopted three children and had to go through it each time.  Also, that would most likely not speed up the process in any way.

Good luck!

Colleen
