About Roberta Rosenberg
Expertise
International Adoption - I am an active member of the adoption community. I have 3 children, 2 adopted from Korea. I can answer all questions about Korean adoption, most questions on international. What I do not know I can easily find out. (PLEASE NOTE: I cannot answer any questions involving immigration/family adoption legal issues. These matters of local/state/federal law should be discussed with a qualified attorney.)

Experience
Beyond my own personal experience as an adoptive parent, I'm also the developer of several websites related to adoption. Adopting from Korea (www.adoptkorea.com) and AdoptShoppe (www.adoptshoppe.com) are just two of my current sites.

Question
Hi. The birth father of my oldest son (born in Romania) had children that were adopted by people in France. (supposedly several years before my son was adopted) Would you have any idea as to how I could go about looking for those siblings? Thanks for your help and time.

Answer
Hi, thanks for writing. There are a couple of ways of doing this:

1 - Start with the Romanian adoption agency/organization that placed your son. They may have useful information about the birth father and the placement of the siblings.

2 - Identify all French adoption egroups, websites, blogs having to do with Romanian adoption. Sort out which ones could be of help to you.

3 - Hire a French PI experienced with adoption matters.

It could be the siblings know they are adopted, but perhaps not. This won't be an easy task but it's not impossible.

Good luck to you and your son.
