Question
I have 3 kids 16 (17 in 4 months) 9 and 2, All boys. I wanted a girl in a few years. I am married. I live in Arizona. We are all white but I do not care about the race of the child. My family is a rainbow family (as we like to say)! Up to 8 is okay. How costly?

Question -
would love to adopt but to not have loads of money. How would I go about this? there seems to be so many children in need of homres but those of use that don't have the big bucks are not able to. HELP!

Answer -
Sam, what state are you in? Are you single or married> How old are you? Do you currently have a child or children? What race and age of child or children are you wishing to adopt? Yes adoption is and most times can be costly. I is almost always a roller coaster ride. But Oh so worth it when you finally find Your child. I look forward to hearing  back from you. Best wishes
Terrie

Answer
Sam your biggest hurdle is going to be that you do have children already. If you want an infant any race costs start at around $7,000 and go to over $30,000. For older children very few children are placed outside of the state foster care system in the age range of 2 to 5. Older kids meaning over age 7 are easier to adopt but may come with serious special needs including emotional issues. Also the majority of those wishing to adopt do want a girl which means even at state level their are many waiting familes for girls. You may want to talk to your local state and other agencies about an older child. If you open about race that does help alot.
Best wishes
Terrie, the fees are aprox and range from agency to agency, which lawyer you work with and many other factors.
