I was wondering if any adult film permits are required for still photography in the state of Califonia. I'm a photographer who is interested in setting up an online photography website featuring adult content, but no video only stills. Am I required to obtain CA state filming permits?

Hi Richard,

It all depends on the type of content you will be shooting. If you are just going to be taking pictures of naked/masturbating girls, then you will not need the permit. However, if they will involve ANY sexual activity of any kind (lesbian, Boy/girl, oral, ect.) …then yes you will have to have them.
