Subject: How to begin?
Question I just wanted to know where to begin in starting my own adult production company..I can imagine that you get this question all the time, but I have wanted to start filming for the past 2 years..I currently a college student in florida looking to make some serious money. I just wanted to know the correct and legal way in starting a company and where would I get models to film, and what are the most popular concepts being used right now in the porn industry...Thank you for your time...
Answer There is a LOT of information you're looking for - more than I can provide in a simple post.
You first need to think about what sort of content you WANT to produce and what your particular niche will be. There are all sorts of styles that are being produced now - if I had to guess the most "popular," it would probably be gonzo, but again, if you pick a niche with little competition, that can be successful too.
Once you've picked a genre, will you have business partners, or will you go it alone? Do you plan on launching a website to distribute your content? If so, will you develop it yourself or have someone do it for you? Have you put together funds for your venture? It is not cheap to be successful in this business. You should expect to spend between $5k-10k (and up) to make your first film. And then add marketing and distribution costs.
As you can see, there's a lot to think about. I put most of my clients who are in your situation through an extremely exhaustive process to sharpen their business plan before they shoot their first film.
