Question
QUESTION: im wanting to start my own porn site. I'm a college student and the money would be nice to pay my tuition. I have been loaned $1,000 bucks to get started. What do I do now?
Thanks!

ANSWER: Well... what kind of site do you want to start?  Do you want to produce your own content?  Do you want to run an affiliate site for another content producer?  What sort of niche do you want to be in?

I'd strongly recommend you do your research first to see what sort of site you'd be most comfortable with.  Research the discussion boards on places like xbiz.com or ynot.com.  You may also want to spend a few bucks (less than $100) on picking up CD guides from places like rayscorner.com, which can give you some very good tips.

Lastly, you do NOT want to get into this business without getting good legal advice, which is invaluable due to the high risk involved.  You should, however, expect to pay more than $1,000 for comprehensive help.  Bottom line:  do you homework first before you start spending serious money on launching a site that won't pay off for you.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: well i am wanting to start a site that is not as cliche' as some out there. lots of sites say "18-24 year olds" but they all look like super models. This site won't be like that. They will be 18-24 year olds, but amateurs that have never done it before. And i want to totally produce my own content.

Answer
I'm guessing you're interested in soliciting talent from your college who are "first timers."

Amateurs are notoriously difficult to deal with - you can expect lots of no-shows, girls showing up with boyfriends who want to give you rules, and if you're fortunate enough to get something produced and distributed, hope a girl's father doesn't discover her in a porn video and come after you.

Which is not to say it can't be done - it can and is done.  But know that it's a lot harder than it seems, and you NEED to know the legal ways to approach girls to be in your videos.

I'd repeat my earlier advice, and if you're still itching to get into the biz, scrape together a few more bucks for camera, equipment, actors/actresses, editing and duplication, legal information and review, and marketing and distribution.  Bottom line is you need to spend the money in order to make it in this business.  $10,000 is about the average to launch an amateur production (and to do it right and LEGALLY).
