Question
Two questions, since my wife and I are curious about starting up a business either making adult film, or distributing it.

How would you distribute the film and get it into stores?

And are there any (or what are the) companies that can/will do mass production of movies?

Answer
I assume from your post that you are wife plan on producing and starring in your adult film.  Unless you have a unique, top-quality video, it will be exceedingly difficult to find a distributor willing to mass produce and distribute your film.  The DVD market for adult films is significantly shrinking in light of online distribution.

The big distributors are located in the L.A. area - a simple search in a local director can provide that information.  As an amateur filmmaker, don't expect them to pay much attention to you, however.  If you are truly serious about finding distribution, your best bet is to try to contact one of the numerous smaller, independent distributors out there.  Be prepared to give up a significant cut, however, as a new unknown player.  I'd recommend focusing on online distribution, which can be easier and less costly.
