Hi, Im a gay pornstar but this isn't a question about the gay porn industry.

I just wanted to know if you think this sounds like a genuine and safe offer.

I have been offered by a so-called free lance photographer in NYC to come on an all expense paid flight to his home in Brooklyn and take part in a photoshot which would be 70% me in solo action and the other 30% cum shot's with him.

He offered to pay for my accomodation at a nearby hotel or ''if i prefered'' to stay at his home.

Is this a common thing for photographer's in the porn industry to do? Is it a safe thing to do?

I was just inquiring as i am relatively new to the buisness.

Over the last few years the internet has provided a brand new outlet for people who in the past had to stay within their local for lack of a better word "jurisdiction"...It can be used by LE or by the General Public (aka, civilians) or area to find their fun, entertainment and amusement. Now the world is a much smaller place....

This is why I stress...everyone has a unique role in society....agents and/or managers....are basically "pimps"....there role is to protect there employees so that at the end of the night that prostitute will bring him/her their money.

So are pimps necessary....YES....they are necessary EVIL. Without them male and female sex workers would get scammed left and right. Pimps are basically the mob of this section of this particular industry.

So caveat emptor...when it goes to finding "work" by yourself or behind your pimps back.....remember that they have a "vested interest"..in seeing that you make it back safely in one piece.

Now that I have finished my rant there....

Yes as I mentioned above....local yokels have been using the internet to get people from out of their area to come in a do a shoot.....

Most of the hobbyists are always looking for fresh meat...for their own "private" home videos....again its 2008......anyone can get a camera....video or still and say that they are a producer, director and male talent.

This is again where my previous rant comes in handy.....

Your best bet is if you are unsure..is to "just say no".....and find a qualified "pimp" to help you with your bookings while your a newbie.

As you progress....in the porn biz....its mostly about OJT...there are no college courses on "how to become a porn star 101"...so relax...take some time and check out this entire thread....
