Dan,
 I am looking to start a production company in Rhode Island. What are the laws pertaining to the production of adult films in Rhode Island. I am aware that in RI prostitution is legal behind closed doors. Does that mean adult film production is allowed? Or do the obscenity laws still come into play?What would be considered obscene material? Would the first amendment protect the production company?Where can I find more info regarding liscences/permits to film? I appreciate any help you can give me.

You have asked several questions which cannot be answered simply through this forum.  I also cannot provide legal advice on these boards either.

If you are planning on starting an adult film production company, whether in Rhode Island or elsewhere, you NEED to retain a qualified lawyer to advise you.  There are simply far too many ways to get yourself in trouble if you go about it the wrong way.  I don't mean to sound like I'm simply pushing my own legal services, but I've seen what can happen when people get it wrong.
