can a adult sologirl site be based out of texas legally? i did not think it was any
problem, but i want to check before we launch

Like anything else in this industry, the answer is it depends.  You probably won't run afoul of prostitution laws, however you still need to ensure that you don't violate obscenity laws, comply with the 2257 recordkeeping and labeling requirements, and if you are hiring anyone either as talent or production help, to ensure you have complete and enforceable agreements with them.
