Question
I have a small movie production, do sports and local business commercials.  I
was recently asked if I could film an adult scene on a married consenting couple
which wanted it for their own personal viewing.  Would this be considered illegal
to provide this service and get paid for it.  I do in tri-state area of NJ/NY/CT.

It really depends on the specifics of what you'll be shooting.  You will also be subject to complying with 18 U.S.C. 2257 at its attendant regulations.  I would NOT recommend you do this work without having a qualified lawyer advise you on the specifics.
