Question
How commonly spread is that pesky deadly disease spread among porn stars and how often do people test positive? What are the measures that are used to make sure everyone on set is safe? Also, what course of action do you recommend for females wanting to break into the world of porn?

Answer
Actually, you are much more likely to contract HIV/AIDS from a cheating spouse or first-time lover than you are working as an Adult Performer. Such infections are extremely rare do to Industry efforts to protect our talent via mandatory testing. ALL Performers MUST be tested for STDs every 30 days and provide proof of a clean test before any shooting can take place. Performers may also further protect themselves by insisting that condoms be used during shooting.

Unfortunately, despite out best efforts, there is no 100% guarantee that a Performer will not contract a major STD at some point in their career...but the risk is very low.

If you are interested in learning more about the testing procedure and standards, please contact the folks at Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation at http://www.aim-med.org

If you are serious about working as an Adult Performer, I would suggest you Start by contacting a few reputable Adult Talent Agencies and speaking to them about your interest in the Adult Entertainment Industry. I recommend you start with these:

http://www.alisttalent.com
http://www.adulttalentmanagers.com
http://www.goldstarmodeling.com
http://www.lisaannstalentmanagement.com
http://www.type9models.com
http://www.worldmodeling.com

These are reputable Agencies and their websites have all the information necessary to put you in contact with a representative. These Agencies only work with equally reputable Production companies thus greatly increasing your chances of success. If this is something you are serious about, get yourself signed with an Agency and let them get you started on the right track.

For your own safety I would also STRONGLY advise you to avoid placing and/or answering ads on sites like xpeeps.com, craigslist.com and backpage.com looking for work. These, and many similar, sites are common playgrounds for all manner of predator and are honestly never used by legitimate Adult Industry Professionals to any real extent.

I do have several shoots coming up in the next couple of months and would be happy to consider having you work with us on some of them. If that interest you then get back with me soon with a contact phone number, your measurements and the following photos:
