Me and a friend of mine want to get into the adult industry of photography and film making but we dont have the money to travel to cali to do it. can i do this in the state of texas and get away with it legally and what do i need to do?

Texas is a particularly dangerous place to produce adult films, and I do not recommend filming there.  The Texas prostitution laws are very restrictive (see http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/PE/content/htm/pe.009.00.000043.00.htm).  Specifically:

Sec. 43.03.  PROMOTION OF PROSTITUTION.  (a)  A person commits an offense if, acting other than as a prostitute receiving compensation for personally rendered prostitution services, he or she knowingly:

(1)  receives money or other property pursuant to an agreement to participate in the proceeds of prostitution; or

(2)  solicits another to engage in sexual conduct with another person for compensation.

If you do not have money to travel to do your filming, you would be better served licensing your content from others.
